Made with Nature
Belvedere, the first super-premium vodka, represents 600 years of Polish Vodka-making tradition. Our distillery is one of the world’s longest continuously operating facilities, making vodka since 1910.
Belvedere is built on a simple philosophy, Made with Nature: Polish Rye & Purified Water. Distilled by fire.
Polish rye is a superior grain with ancient roots, whose rich taste tells the story of Polish terroir. The water is purified to set a flawless stage. Fire serves as the force behind a unique distillation process, a mix of science and a fine skill to draw out rye’s exceptional taste and character. Every ingredient that goes into Belvedere’s time-honoured process is held to the exacting standards of Poland’s legal regulations of Polish Vodka, which dictate that no artificial flavours can be added.
Our purpose is driven from an inherent respect for the land and our mission is to nourish it. We’ve declared a series of ambitions and goals to deliver on this mission. Three key initiatives under three umbrellas: green energy, organic product and sustainable packaging are at the heart of this process.
Green Energy
From 2012 to 2017, Belvedere cut energy CO2 emissions by 42% by shifting fuel sources. In 2018, we became the first spirits distillery to receive a grant from the European Commission to pilot an ambitious green energy initiative that saw the installation of a biomass capture facility on site in 2021. The new plant will start producing 100% renewable energy, subsequently reducing energy-related CO2 emissions by 80% for Belvedere to then become fully energy carbon neutral in 2022.
Organic Product
From 2021 on, all innovations will be organic. Having received our certification for organic production, we are currently working with our agriculture partners in Poland on the transition to 100% organic farming starting from 2023.
Sustainable Packaging
Sustainable packaging is a key priority for Belvedere. We have the goal of eliminating 100% of single-use plastic by 2022. At the same time, we implemented eco-design for our new products and point of sales materials, with a commitment to reduce the quantity of secondary and packaging material, achieve 90% recyclability for all materials, and have long-life solutions rather than one-time use. By 2025, we are committed to further reducing the use of plastic by 50% and use up to 50% of recycled plastic.
