THE WORK
Del Kathryn Barton is generously offering a significant painting from her newest body of work. The piece is in Barton’s signature hyper-detailed style, featuring her distinct interpretation of the female form. The work is complexly layered, vibrant colours explode from the pictorial space in conjunction with painterly marks and signature lines.
Within the painting, a three-eyed being emerges from a cocoon-like state - encompassed by technicolor leaves and existing within a world of natural visual delights. The work celebrates the intersection of humanity with the natural world. It prompts a consideration of the ways we, as individuals, exist within a symbiotic relationship with the world around us.
